I’ve been there.

I’ve been there.

If you find yourself in a career soul-search, struggling to fit together the pieces of your non-linear background, or in need of the right wordsmithing to explain your  unique value – I’ve been there.

If you find yourself in a career soul-search, struggling to fit together the pieces of your non-linear background, or in need of the right wordsmithing to explain your  unique value – I’ve been there.

My track record:

  • College drop-out?  Check.
  • ‘Dream’ career tanked?  Uh-huh.
  • Multiple career shifts & changes?  Yep.
  • Job search in a huge economic crisis?  Definitely.

Since then, though, I’ve been able to turn things around.

I earned a college degree and I’ve become a Master Resume Writer, and a Certified Career Transition Coach.

I’ve also been:

I’ve helped over 700 people create engaging and effective resumes that get attention and land interviews for their target jobs.

And I’m confident I can help you, too.

With 9 years’ experience as a professional resume writer and multiple industry certifications and memberships, I help ambitious career changers get the clarity and confidence they need to reinvent their career.

But that’s not how I started out.

My career has always been a bit unconventional…probably because I’m a bit unconventional.  A characteristic that led me though several (seriously, several) successful career changes before landing where I am now.

I’ve come to consider myself an ‘accidental entrepreneur’.

This term really embodies the completely non-linear and unintentional way I found myself in this position.

I was pretty lost after my first-choice career as a Music Educator didn’t pan out. Thankfully, I had strong support on my side and some great know-how to find my way in the career world.

I stumbled through a variety of jobs in restaurants, teaching, healthcare, media, sales, and marketing, before eventually realizing that I really wanted to get back to helping people.

That’s when I found Career Services, which combined my education background, home-grown HR knowledge, sales and customer service skills, and – most importantly – my passion for helping others.

More of my story:

Client Success is My #1 Priority

I’ve helped 700+ professionals (yes, really!) by crafting effective, engaging resumes that showcase their unique value and directly target their ideal positions.

Real client career change transformations:

    • Aurora leveraged her unique and diverse background to land a job within 3.5 months at an educational nonprofit where she feels like she’s contributing to a greater good every day.

    • Tom went from a year-long job search trying to transition out of teaching to starting a new job as an IT Project Coordinator within 2 months.

    • Connie was offered a legal operations and compliance role within 2.5 months that perfectly blends her extensive attorney experience and her skills as a healthcare program director.

When I first started my resume writing business…

I got a gig offering live resume reviews at a monthly career fair. My booth immediately became the most popular (with lines out the door!) and I quickly discovered that many (many) people make a lot of the same resume mistakes – consistently across the thousands of resumes I saw throughout my 2-year gig.

That’s because a LOT of the resume advice floating around online is outdated, completely inconsistent with what real-life recruiters want, and all-round just-plain bad.

As a Certified Professional Resume Writer, it is my goal to support job seekers by offering expert insights on the job search process.
